A stronger Conservative Party in Amherst, Erie County's largest and most influential Town, will make the Erie County Conservative Party more influential. The leadership of The Town of Amherst Conservative Committee looks forward to developing an effective working relationship with Chairman Ralph C. Lorigo and the officers of the Erie County Conservative Committee.	MISSION STATEMENT: The Amherst Conservative Party will work in support of candidates who share our conservative values. The NEW Amherst Conservative Party pledges to work with Republicans, Democrats and Independents to reform Amherst government to keep our taxes from skyrocketing, and to clean-up the mess in Erie County. The Erie County Board of Elections reports that in 2005 there are 81, 720 registered voters in the Town of Amherst. There are 1,251 Conservatives, 30,950 Republicans, 31,022 Democrats, 2,470 Independence voters, 151 Working Family voters and 14, 592 unaffiliated voters. The new officers are already registering more Conservative voters who are dissatisfied with the leadership in our Town and County. The new leadership team of the Amherst Conservative Party will use our influence to have a crucial impact on elections in the Town of Amherst and Erie County. RONALD REAGAN DISTINGUISHED LEADERSHIP AWARD It is a great honor for The Town of Amherst Conservative Party to establish the President Ronald Reagan Distinguished Leadership Award. President Ronald Reagan set the Gold Standard for which ALL future Presidents will be judged. Ronald Reagan’s leadership provided the vision on which conservatism has flourished in America. Ronald Reagan made us all proud to be Americans. He is responsible for the success that conservatism continues to enjoy. Ronald Reagan was the Great Communicator who inspired and lifted-up the American people. President Reagan’s legacy is the foundation on which we are building the New Amherst Conservative Party. President Reagan was a great American. He provided the leadership to bury the Evil Empire. The Soviet Union only exists in history books. The New Amherst Conservative Party is proud to send a powerful message to Erie County and Western New York as we confront tough challenges here: President Reagan left us an enduring legacy of a strong defense, smaller government and lower taxes. But President Reagan also showed us that government can work. Ronald Reagan was great leader with vision who worked with Democrats and even liberals to solve our nation’s problems. We all fondly remember that President Reagan and Speaker Tip O’Neill were far apart on the issues. But after work they shared stories, beers and the same hopes for all Americans. The Amherst Conservative Party is very pleased to honor Rep. Thomas M. Reynolds with the Inaugural President Ronals Reagan Distinguished Leadership Award. We are counting on Rep. Tom Reynolds to save the Niagara Falls Air Force Base. There are 1,251 registered Conservatives in the Town of Amherst. The new leadership of the Amherst Conservative Party is working hard to increase the number of registered Conservatives.
